Hi, I'm Crissy Fernando!

Crissy Fernando is a Sri Lanka based visual artist with over a decade of self-taught practice. Her work is deeply rooted in the natural world, shaped by an upbringing in a lush, green environment. Crissy primarily works with natural pigments, earth based materials, and botanical dyes, all carefully sourced and prepared by hand. These organic elements are central to her creative process. 

Her practice explores the relationship between humans and nature, focusing on themes of interconnectedness, primal memory, and the impact of technological advancement on human experience. 

Working primarily with natural materials such as earth pigments, soil, charcoal, and organic dyes, Crissy creates tactile, process driven artworks that reflect a close engagement with the environment. Her work is influenced by prehistoric art, visionary art, and Sri Lankan traditional forms ෴
